Psalm 31
ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOU

Here is a word of encouragement, penned by David and written especially for you: “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!” (Psalm 31 v 24 ESV).

David had been through a lot of trials. He had struggled, but he had also prayed and found God to be a strength and refuge for him in times of trouble. The same went for our Lord Jesus Christ who quoted some of this psalm while he was on the cross.

Neither David nor Jesus had easy lives despite being men totally dedicated to God. But they both knew they could succeed in the strength of the LORD, and they also knew that God would come through for them in the end.

We can have the same faith. That’s why David encourages us in the same way: “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!”

May we stand strong until the return of Christ.
