Psalm 132
HARDSHIPS

I love the way David says, “Remember, O LORD, in David’s favour, all the hardships he endured.” (Psalm 132 v 1 ESV). I hope I can pray the same thing too, or for that matter, any of us who have gone through trials and hardships.

John describes a great multitude from all the nations gathered together in the kingdom of God. He was told, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation.” (Revelation 7 v 14). And after he had been stoned, Paul told the believers in Lystra that “through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14 v 22).

We all go through hardships, problems, trials and tribulations. They come into our lives to bring us closer to God, to help us rely on him, and to discipline us in order to get us to work more closely with him. So let’s pray the same prayer David prayed: “Remember, O LORD, in [our] favour, all the hardships [we] endured.”

May we be faithful to God, no matter what, this week.
