LOOK AGAIN

My son was asked how he had seen God working in his life. The questioner demanded, “Give me three examples.” My son dutifully listed on off three great examples of God working in his life. When he had finished, his questioner said, “Give me three more!”

It is all too easy to discount the way God works in our lives by saying that things could have worked out that way anyway. We do it all the time. Miracles we should hold on to get forgotten, and we don’t remember the amazing power of God in our lives.

Israel in the wilderness had seen miracle after miracle. They had seen God working in their lives. But just before they crossed the Jordan River, Joshua said, “Here is how you shall know that the living God is among you …” (Joshua 3 v 10 ESV), and he went on to describe what would happen to the waters of the Jordan River to enable Israel to cross over into the promised land.

So today, let’s look to see new ways to know that God is working in our lives, and be reassured that the Living God is among us.

May we grow in faith as we see God working in our lives this week.
