STAND STRONG IN YOUR FAITH
Jude’s letter is very much a letter that we, in the last days, should pay lots of attention to. The Book of Revelation takes us all the way to the time of the end and the new beginning, but Jude, the book before Revelation, gives us an urgency about getting our act into gear in the last days.
He says, “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.” (Jude 3). Jude is saying that he won’t be focusing on building our understanding, but on ways we can hold onto the faith we already have, because the attacks that will come against our faith will be deadly.
His letter goes on to give examples of the judgment of God that is coming to the people who scoff at God’s word. His final words of advice are very important for us:
“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear – hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.” (v 20 – 23).
Let’s pay special attention to Jude’s message to us in these last days.
May we stand strong in our faith from this day on.
