Isaiah 60
ARISE, SHINE

This morning as I went out to sit in my spa pool and pray, it was still dark, but a full moon shone through the clear sky almost as brightly as the sun through the darkness. The moonlight lit up the yard and I was bathed in its light. While I sat there gazing at the moon, I prayed that I would be able to shine brightly like the moon, to be a shining light for Christ in this dark world.

It was fascinating to come inside afterward, and open my Bible to the reading in Isaiah that says, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 61 v 1 – 3 ESV).

Lord, help me to shine with your glory today, and may I be a light in this dark world for you.

May we be lights that shine to reflect the glory of God today.

With love in our Lord,
Robert
