Luke 16
LET NOTHING BE WASTED

Jesus told a parable that began like this: “There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions.” (Luke 16 v 1 ESV).

It seems to me that the rich man represents God while the manager could be you or me. The charge against the manager was of wasting the rich man’s possessions.

Everything we have comes from God. Even the strength we have to be able to earn money to buy our own possessions comes from God, so really, all we have belongs to God. So if it all belongs to God, then it is our responsibility to use it to his benefit. We do not want to end up like the dishonest manager and find ourselves wasting God’s possessions – especially when he has been so generous toward us.

Let us use what God has loaned to us productively and give him glory through it. Let’s use our energy, positions, money, time, relationships, houses, cars, and opportunities to bless God and the people around us.

May we be productive with what God has given us today.
